Concentration:
1. Landscape
2. vivid color landscapes
3. false color representations/color replacement
4. specific positions of landscapes making them obscure
5. candid people in landscapes

I love this picture because the colors are so vivid and stand out in leaves perfectly compared to the dark background.

  1. Becky, I am very interested in what you mean by "false color". This theme alone carries great potential, regardless of whether or not you focus exclusively on landscapes. Look at how artists like prendergast, Seurat, cezanne and Childe Hassam handle color and more specifically how they think of color as a system or pieces of light. For outlandish and unrealistic color, look at the work of Matisse and Gauguin, known as "the fauves" or "wild beasts" by their critics.

  2. Like Mrs. Silverman, I find the false color idea very interesting. I think you could combine the false color with the candid human in a landscape.

I think you did a lot with landscapes last year and I think its a good idea to keep your interest for landscapes but also add a new challenge of doing people. Im excited!

  3. I like the false color representations/color replacement! I think it would be cool to chose common objects with distinct colors and then change them to unrealistic options. I think you could also merge the idea of vivid color lansdcapes with this idea. I'm excited to see how this will turn out!
