Concentration

1. Expectations (of yourself/ from others)
2. Landscapes with contrasting colors (some form of impressionism)
3. Different perspectives of the same thing
4. Travel/places thats define you
5. World problems

(this picture sort of relates to the landscape topic, but I mainly chose it because it representing the impressionist style and vivid colors)

  1. Excellent starting point. It seems as though you are thinking about two kinds of concentrations, one focusing on the formal (or technical) considerations in painting, such as style, color etc....and then the other centering around a theme of personal identity (manifested through place or expectations). Would it be possible for you to choose one of your conceptual themes and use color or painting style as devices to communicate your ideas? I also really like #3. Did you see those amazing still life diptych paintings in the Pafa presentation today? I thought they were incredible. If you chose this direction, we could modify the size requirement so you could do two small pieces for each of the eight concentration works. Looking at the same thing two ways could also apply to you or the individual and tie in with your theme of expectations.

  2. I like your idea of Expectations. We're all aware that us kids are pulled in every direction but no one doesn't really do much to fix it. I think you could bring light to that and really bring it to peoples attention. I also really like that picture you added. I'm excited!
