HALEY PIERCE

1 comment:

  1. 1. The use of shape unity is strong in this piece. The sense of roundness is carried throughout and there are no sudden abrupt lines. I think value pattern is strong as well because the values give great contrast to the piece. The background space has movement but could maybe use a little more attention.

    2. I would say this piece is non figurative because its not abstract and its not of figures. It is expressive and unique.

    3. If I saw this piece without knowing Haley’s concentration I wouldn’t know the meaning behind it. I would just think it was abstract version of fruit. I would think maybe this artist was trying to explore the great differences of lights and darks.

    4. I think the piece matches Haley’s concentration once you read what it is. But like I said in number three I wouldn’t know what was being told by this piece without the written concentration idea.

    5. I think the contrasts of this piece are the strongest. There is a very distinct difference in lights and darks but it doesn’t make you lose the shape of the fruits. In fact it makes the fruits even more distinct, giving them rough edges and holes and bruises.

    6. I think this piece would be stronger if it were a little more fruit and a little less yellow. But the fruit is already well painted in my opinion.
